Developed from long-term field research and participatory sound practices, the piece offers a personal retelling of the auditory experiences of Chinese female new immigrants living in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The work combines field recordings made by both the artist and participants, original vocals, electronic music, and compositional elements drawn from the sound of the&nbsp;<strong>pipa<\/strong>, a traditional Chinese lute. The pipa motif serves as a key sonic reference, rooted in the artist\u2019s own memory of hearing a pipa player regularly practicing near her former living place in Beijing. This remembered sound becomes a point of departure for dialogues\u2014with place, with participants, and with her own identity as a newly arrived outsider in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Structured in four chapters,&nbsp;<em>\u79fb<\/em>&nbsp;unfolds as a layered journey through memory, mobility, and sonic intimacy:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Chapter I: \u79fb(Movement)<\/strong>&nbsp;captures interview fragments from the COVID-19 period alongside the artist\u2019s initial field recordings upon arriving in Hong Kong.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chapter II: \u63a2 (Explore<\/strong>)&nbsp;follows participants as they revisit familiar public spaces in their daily lives to record overlooked and intimate urban sounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chapter III: \u5faa (Follow)<\/strong>&nbsp;documents the participants entering each other\u2019s spaces, tracing overlapping auditory paths that reflect shared yet distinct urban experiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chapter IV: \u61a7 (Longing)<\/strong>&nbsp;presents a poetic sonic composition that imagines future possibilities through reconstructed soundscapes shaped by memory, empathy, and imagination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;\u79fb&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;was performed as a multichannel sound piece at the Multimedia Theatre of the Run Run Shaw Creative Media Centre in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u300a\u79fb\u300b\u662f\u4e00\u90e8\u591a\u7ae0\u7bc0\u7684\u8072\u97f3\u666f\u89c0\u4f5c\u66f2\u4f5c\u54c1\uff0c\u7531\u85dd\u8853\u5bb6\u6842\u4ec1\u5275\u4f5c\uff0c\u4f5c\u70ba\u5176\u5728\u9999\u6e2f\u958b\u5c55\u7684\u300aWalk in Her Shoes\u300b\u9805\u76ee\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u5206\u3002\u4f5c\u54c1\u6e90\u65bc\u9577\u671f\u7684\u7530\u91ce\u8abf\u67e5\u8207\u53c3\u8207\u5f0f\u8072\u97f3\u5be6\u8e10\uff0c\u4ee5\u500b\u4eba\u6558\u4e8b\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\uff0c\u91cd\u65b0\u8b1b\u8ff0\u4e2d\u570b\u5973\u6027\u65b0\u79fb\u6c11\u5728\u9999\u6e2f\u7684\u807d\u89ba\u7d93\u9a57\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u672c\u4f5c\u878d\u5408\u4e86\u85dd\u8853\u5bb6\u8207\u53c3\u8207\u8005\u5171\u540c\u5b8c\u6210\u7684\u5be6\u5730\u9304\u97f3\u3001\u539f\u5275\u4eba\u8072\u3001\u96fb\u5b50\u97f3\u6a02\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u4f86\u81ea\u4e2d\u570b\u50b3\u7d71\u6a02\u5668\u7435\u7436\u7684\u8072\u97f3\u5143\u7d20\u3002\u7435\u7436\u52d5\u6a5f\u4f5c\u70ba\u4f5c\u54c1\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u8072\u97ff\u7b26\u865f\uff0c\u6e90\u81ea\u85dd\u8853\u5bb6\u5c0d\u65bc\u904e\u53bb\u5728\u5317\u4eac\u5c45\u4f4f\u5730\u9644\u8fd1\uff0c\u5e38\u807d\u898b\u4e00\u4f4d\u7435\u7436\u6f14\u594f\u8005\u7df4\u7fd2\u7684\u8a18\u61b6\u3002\u9019\u6bb5\u8a18\u61b6\u4e2d\u7684\u8072\u97f3\u6210\u70ba\u8207\u5834\u6240\u3001\u53c3\u8207\u8005\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5979\u4f5c\u70ba\u65b0\u4f86\u6e2f\u8005\u8eab\u4efd\u4e4b\u9593\u5c55\u958b\u5c0d\u8a71\u7684\u8d77\u9ede\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u300a\u79fb\u300b\u5171\u5206\u70ba\u56db\u500b\u7ae0\u7bc0\uff0c\u4ee5\u5c64\u5c64\u905e\u9032\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u5c55\u958b\u4e00\u6bb5\u95dc\u65bc\u8a18\u61b6\u3001\u6d41\u52d5\u8207\u8072\u97f3\u89aa\u5bc6\u6027\u7684\u65c5\u7a0b\uff1a<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul \u201c\u61a7\u201d\uff08Longing\uff09<\/strong>\uff1a\u4ee5\u8a18\u61b6\u3001\u5171\u611f\u8207\u60f3\u50cf\u6240\u5f62\u69cb\u7684\u8072\u97f3\u7d20\u6750\uff0c\u5275\u9020\u4e00\u6bb5\u8a69\u610f\u6027\u7684\u8072\u97f3\u7d44\u66f2\uff0c\u63cf\u7e6a\u5c0d\u672a\u4f86\u53ef\u80fd\u6027\u7684\u5e7b\u60f3\u3002<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p
